Over 97% of Professionals Relocating to the North West Were Satisfied With Their Decision
North West Relocation Survey 2015According to a recent survey conducted by Sligo Chamber of Commerce and Collins McNicholas Recruitment & HR Services Group, 97% of working professionals that relocated to the North West were either satisfied or very satisfied with their decision to move to the region. The published report, the ‘North West Relocation Survey 2015,’ outlines the factors that influenced professionals when relocating to the region and examines their experience of the region since relocating.
The results of the survey show that the North West has become a very appealing location for professionals. 90% would recommend relocating to the region. Quality of life is the main draw, with 98% listing this factor as moderately to extremely important in their decision to move to the North West. Other important factors mentioned in the report include a better work life balance, shorter commute times, a reduced cost of living, beautiful scenery, and good career opportunities.
Commenting on the report Sligo Chamber of Commerce CEO Paul Keyes stated:
“This survey once again highlights the North West region as a vibrant location that is proving increasingly attractive to a growing number of professionals who wish to enjoy a rewarding career with a very high quality of life. Coupled with a renewed investment in essential infrastructure the North West will be well-placed to play a very significant role in the growth of the national economy.”
Director of Collins McNicholas, Antoinette O’Flaherty, added:
“The North West region offers professionals excellent career opportunities in a range of sectors, with companies in the areas of pharmaceuticals, medical devices, and software. These opportunities, combined with the quality of life on offer, has resulted in a significant number of high skilled professionals relocating to the region. With 84% of those surveyed having a degree, Masters, or PhD, the region is creating jobs that are attracting highly skilled and well educated professionals.”

“The lifestyle in the North West is what attracts so many professionals. 71% commute to work in under 20 minutes. This is significantly better than what is being experienced in the larger cities. 71% also cited having a better work life balance. This is particularly important to professionals with young families as they can spend more time with their kids enjoying everything the region has to offer.”
