Sligo Chamber Budget Breakfast
Sligo Chamber in association with Chartered Accountants Ireland North West Society will host their annual Budget Breakfast Briefing in the Sligo Park Hotel on the 16th October 2013 at 7.30am. In addition to Accountancy practices, the event also qualifies for CPD credits from the Bankers Institute, and the Bar Association.
The event which is being sponsored by the Sligo Park Hotel will see leading taxation specialist, Martin Coggins from Coggins and Company, providing a comprehensive overview and up to date tax analysis of the key issues arising from Budget 2014 and how the changes will affect both individuals and companies.
Speaking prior to the Budget, Chamber President Trevor McDaid said that “The emphasis in this budget must be on generating employment through increasing the velocity of cash in the economy. Sligo Chamber, in association with Chambers Ireland has made a detailed Pre-Budget Submission to the Minister for Finance advocating incentives to generate employment in the domestic economy whilst also reducing barriers to employment generation. Employment growth in County Sligo and the North West generally will come almost exclusively from within the private sector and Government needs to continue to improve its support to enterprise if our unemployment crises is to be seriously tackled.”
In the context of Capital Expenditure, Sligo Chamber has prioritised the following employment generating projects:
- Improvement of the N4
- Roll out of Natural Gas infrastructure
- Enhanced International Air Access through Ireland West Airport Knock.
The admission fee for the event is €20 for members and €25 for non-members. Bookings can be made through Sligo Chamber at 071 9161274 or info@sligochamber.ie
