Sligo Chamber extends its appreciation for the ongoing works on O’Connell Street
Following a Sligo Chamber Council meeting this morning (Wed 28th September) Sligo Chamber has issued a statement noting the Chambers appreciation for the ongoing engineering works on O’Connell Street:
Chamber President Des Faul said “The Chamber is very appreciative of the manner in which the ongoing works are being conducted. Sligo County Council, Irish Water, and the Contractors, Carty Construction, are to be congratulated on the speed and efficiency of the work and in particular for their consideration of and communication to the business community operating on O’Connell Street. The Chamber recognises fully that the enhancement of O’Connell Street which it has lobbied local government on for years will involve disruption to the whole community of Sligo. That said, the disruption thus far has been managed in a thoughtful and engaging way and augurs well for a successful completion of the project where we can look forward to an excellent streetscape that all of Sligo can be proud of”.
