  • Winners announced at Sligo Chamber Annual Dinner on Friday, March 7, at Clayton Hotel

Sligo Chamber of Commerce has announced its list of finalists for this year’s Business Excellence Awards, with 12 leading Sligo-based companies shortlisted across four categories.

Run in partnership with Ocean Media, the Sligo Chamber of Commerce Business Excellence Awards recognise companies that have demonstrated capacity for innovation, delivered projects that have positively impacted the environment, invested in staff upskilling, and showcased their readiness for future growth.

The winners will be revealed at the Sligo Chamber of Commerce Annual Dinner on Friday, March 7, at the Clayton Hotel in Sligo.

The four categories include the Skillnet Ireland Regional Excellence Award, the Local Enterprise Office Excellence Award, Innovator Excellence Award, and the Net Zero Excellence Award.

  • The Skillnet Ireland Regional Excellence Award, sponsored by Sligo Chamber Skillnet, is open to any company that has engaged in staff training programmes and invested in personnel enhancement over the past 24 months. Finalists for this award include home furnishing ecommerce business Beyond (formerly Overstock), engineering consultants Jennings O’Donovan & Partners, and the AIM Centre.
  • The Local Enterprise Office (LEO) Excellence Award, sponsored by LEO Sligo, recognises businesses which have benefitted from support of LEO Sligo, and which have demonstrated potential for growth and future employment. Finalists for this award include financial planners IQ Financial, learning technology firm Slick+, and oxygen therapy company OxyZone Sligo.
  • The Investor Excellence Award, sponsored by the Atlantic Technological University, recognises companies that have demonstrated true innovation in their processes, products, or business offering. Finalists include management consultancy firm specialising in technological transitions Nova HCM Ireland Ltd, digital engineering and management firm Tantek 4D, and food tourism experience Taste of Sligo.
  • The Net Zero Excellence Award, sponsored by AIB, is aimed at businesses that have integrated and executed a demonstrable environmental improvement project in the past two years. Finalists include the Radisson Blu Hotel & Spa in Sligo, Tobernalt Holdings Ltd trading as The Canopy retail space in Sligo town, and offsite construction company Vision Built in Tubbercurry.

Each finalist will be profiled in a series of business interviews for Ocean FM in the coming weeks, along with a series of promotional videos which will be shared on social media.

Aidan Doyle, CEO of Sligo Chamber, says the achievements of each of the businesses across the four awards categories will make it challenging for the judges to select a winner.

“Each of the finalists in the Sligo Chamber Business Excellence Awards 2025 have shown remarkable levels of innovation, dynamism, and creativity in their operations. Their success across various sectors demonstrates how Sligo and the North West can both nurture homegrown companies and attract leading multinational companies in cutting-edge industries. The calibre of candidates in each category is strong and judges face a significant challenge in picking their winners.

It is great to be once again hosting awards which give due recognition to the dedication and achievements of the businesses that are building our economy both locally and nationally. We were delighted with the number of entries and thank our sponsors, Local Enterprise Office, AIB, Atlantic Technological University, Skillnet Ireland and Ocean Media, for their continued support.”
